ERSCA TRIP Level 2 – Heavy Duty Supervision

The ERSCA Towing and Recovery Incentive Program (TRIP) Level 2 – Heavy Duty Supervisor course is a 16-hour advanced training program designed for supervisors responsible for managing heavy-duty recovery operations, personnel, equipment, and scene safety. Training combines classroom instruction with hands-on practical exercises and may be delivered virtually or in person.


Topics include operator safety, supervisor responsibilities, equipment familiarization, safe and efficient clearance techniques, chains, wire rope, straps and slings, load capacities, advanced rigging systems, resistance calculations, recovery planning, and incident scene management. Special emphasis is placed on leadership, risk assessment, operational decision-making, and the safe and efficient coordination of heavy-duty recovery operations.


The course aligns with industry standards, federal, state, and local regulations, manufacturer recommendations, and company policies. Participants receive an Advanced Winch and Rigging Guide and a Calculation Card to support both classroom instruction and future field operations.


Prerequisite: Successful completion of the ERSCA TRIP Level 1 – Heavy Duty Operator course is required prior to enrollment.
