Comprehensive Standard-Duty Towing & Recovery Operator Training
This course provides comprehensive training in the fundamental knowledge and skills required for professional standard-duty towing and recovery operators utilizing equipment with a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) of less than 26,000 pounds. Participants will develop a strong foundation in industry best practices, emphasizing safety, professionalism, and operational excellence.
Key areas of instruction include operator conduct and appearance, vehicle inspection and preventive maintenance, equipment identification and application, load ratings and towing capacities, use of dollies, basic recovery principles, resistance calculations, winch and wire rope operations, proper towing and hookup procedures, and effective incident scene management.
Training is supported by a comprehensive 180-page student manual designed to reinforce classroom instruction and provide a valuable field reference. The manual contains detailed technical information, industry standards, illustrations, operational procedures, safety guidelines, and practical applications that support long-term learning and professional development.
